Idempotent Method for Deception Games and Complexity Attenuation

چکیده
We extend the applicability of idempotent methods to deterministic dynamic games through the min-max distributive property. This induces a very high curse-of-complexity. A representation of the space of max-plus hypo-convex functions as a min-max linear space is used to obtain a method for attenuating this complexity growth. This is applied in a game of search and deception. The problem is formulated as a dynamic game over a max-plus probability simplex.

Idempotent Method for Continuous-Time Stochastic Control and Complexity Attenuation
We consider a min-plus based numerical method for solution of finite timehorizon control of nonlinear diffusion processes. The approach belongs to the class of curseof-dimensionality-free methods. The min-plus distributive property is required. The price to pay is a very heavy curse-of-complexity. These methods perform well due to the complexityattenuation step. This projects the solution down ...
متن کاملPhishing for Phools in the Internet of Things: Modeling One-to-Many Deception using Poisson Signaling Games
Strategic interactions ranging from politics and pharmaceuticals to e-commerce and social networks support equilibria in which agents with private information manipulate others which are vulnerable to deception. Especially in cyberspace and the Internet of things, deception is difficult to detect and trust is complicated to establish. For this reason, effective policy-making, profitable entrepr...
متن کاملDeception by Design: Evidence-Based Signaling Games for Network Defense
Deception plays a critical role in the financial industry, online markets, national defense, and countless other areas. Understanding and harnessing deception especially in cyberspace is both crucial and difficult. Recent work in this area has used game theory to study the roles of incentives and rational behavior. Building upon this work, we employ a game-theoretic model for the purpose of mec...
متن کاملThe Deception of the Greeks: Generalizing the Information Structure of Extensive Form Games∗
The standard model of an extensive form game rules out an important phenomenon in situations of strategic interaction: deception. Using examples from the world of ancient Greece and from modern-day Wall Street, we show how the model can be generalized to incorporate this phenomenon. Deception takes place when the action observed by a player is different from the action actually taken. The stand...
متن کاملDeceptive Games
Deceptive games are games where the reward structure or other aspects of the game are designed to lead the agent away from a globally optimal policy. While many games are already deceptive to some extent, we designed a series of games in the Video Game Description Language (VGDL) implementing specific types of deception, classified by the cognitive biases they exploit. VGDL games can be run in ...
